One of my main goals for the last few years has been to improve my physical health. Working out more. Drinking more water. Making better food choices. I’d start off great, then lose my motivation a couple of months in. I’d struggle to climb back on the fitness wagon and eventually just give up.
I realized recently it was because I was taking my get healthy goals too serious. Instead of looking forward to working out, I was dreading it. I wasn’t enjoying what I was eating (and like to eat).
So for 2015, I decided to loosen up. And have fun getting healthy.
I started off the year participating in Melissa Bender’s HIIT the New Year Hard Diet Bet Challenge. I love her workouts because they’re under 30 minutes and effective. I can’t recall a time I did one of her workouts and wasn’t sore the next day. I didn’t hit my goal weight, but I did get in the habit of working out consistently and making mindful food choices.
I also started doing Zumba and dance videos on youtube for some extra cardio. These are so much fun! Here’s the one I’m learning now. I do it 2-3 times. I’ve got 90% of the choreography down.
For February, I planned to do the Blogiliates’ calendar for the month along with the Butt Lift Challenge. Then I saw Bender Fitness is doing a new workout challenge for sculpting lean muscle. One of my 2015 goals is to have chiseled arms like Linda Hamilton in Terminator 2.
So I’ll be doing the Bender Fitness challenge along with my dancing videos and walking with my neighbor.
What are your fitness/health goals for 2015? For February?
