This is one of the bookshelves in my writing area. The second is wedged in a corner and the books are on the bottom shelves. Getting a decent picture proved impossible.
Most of the books on the shelves are non-fiction, a mixture of textbooks, business books, writing craft books, biographies, spiritual texts and some fiction.
One thing neither of my shelves have is a keeper shelf. I’m a one read type of reader. Once I finish a novel, it goes back on the ‘shelf’ and I’m on to the next novel in my To Be Read pile.
I’ve thought about re-reading some books I read years ago to see how they resonate with me now that I’m older and wiser. 🙂 Novels like Lady Chatterley’s Lover by D.H. Lawrence and The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexander Dumas. But honestly, I don’t see that happening unless the book is required reading for a class.
Non-fiction books, I will revisit. I go back to these books to stay mindful of the lessons and wisdom within the pages. Books like, Purple Cow by Seth Godin or Ar’nt I A Woman? by Deborah Gray White or The Art of Plotting by Linda J. Cowgill.
