Back in March I planted some sprouting onions to see what would happened and wrote a post about the process. I kept checking on the onions. They grew nicely.
My curiosity got the best of me and I dug them out of the container in May. I’ll admit that I was a little disappointed. I wasn’t expecting a softball size onion, but I thought they’d be somewhat bigger. Ping Pong ball size.
So I replanted them in bed with some other veggies and left them until the end of June. They’re about the size of a racquetball!
I still have some onions growing in a pot. I’m still deciding whether to pull them all up because a couple of the plants have gone to seed. Or pull up a couple to make room in the pot. I could also replant them in a bigger pot or in the bed. Or I could leave them. After typing out my options, I’m going to leave them and dig them out at the end of July.
I’m definitely going to regrow onions. Wonder how they would do inside and during the winter.
